A Piece de Resistance
With how pleased the client was with the grand cabinetry results and Susan’s keen decorative finishing expertise, she continued to add additional projects. The Seven Oaks project just kept growing and growing from the kitchen, to office, to bedrooms, to baths to laundry facilities…the list went on and on; thus the two year project defined. While working closely with interior designer Lisa Long of Bakersfield on the projects, both she and Susan became good friends with the homeowner after many days and hours together. Susan says of the client, “She has a fun and eclectic style and takes everything over the top. This client started out very specific on what she desired for the first couple of projects. She pretty much just tells us to come up with something and surprise her. Lisa and I have come to know her specific tastes; she trusts our ability to provide something she will admire. She loves being surprised at the end of the process—it just makes what I do really fun!” Throughout this project, Susan and Lisa developed a great working relationship. “We continually bounce ideas off each other and work very well together now for many other clients, too,” she explains...
